France Trampoline recommends polyester nets to replace your Mahé 36 catamaran trampoline, an excellent compromise between robustness and permeability, and a very popular favourite among Fountaine-Pajot boat hire agencies worldwide. We recommend two net models that are UV-resistant and very comfortable.
- The F3030T braided net's mesh measures 30 x 30 mm. Catamaran sailors commonly choose this loosely-woven mesh not only because it is very comfortable, but also because it lets water filter through it when the sea is choppy, and therefore does not modify the boat's behaviour.
- The second polyester net well-suited to the Fountaine-Pajot line is the F1515T. Its mesh is more tightly-woven, measuring 15x15 mm, to increase the comfort of the trampoline. This net is recommended by sun-worshippers when the boat is moored, and especially by boat hire agencies looking to offer superior comfort to their clients.
Both net models are made of polyester, a textile known for its comfort and robustness. The polyester is treated to withstand harsh marine conditions such as salt water, UV rays, and wind.
A polyester net is also very easy to maintain.
Prior to installiing your net, it is important to soak it for 24 hours in cold water, and then install it while still wet. This will allow you to evenly distribute the net around the perimeter of the void, and further reduce the net's slack rate once the net is dry.
- France Trampoline also recommends the Multitramp Mesh MT492 technical canvas for Fountaine-Pajot Mahé 36 catamarans. These PVC canvases last a long time and withstand harsh marine conditions. The edges of the trampoline canvas are made with high-frequency welding to prevent tearing. Grommets are generally placed every 150 mm around the edges to optimize the tension and weight load on the trampoline.
