Installing a home net
80% of our customers install their net themselves. You should allow an average of 2 to 3 hours for installation, because even if it's not complicated, it can take some time.
LOFTNETS does not offer an installation service for your home net, but can provide you with all the information you need for a safe and trouble-free installation.
However, if you wish, we can put you in touch with an artisan fitter in our network, located near you.
An installation available to all
The process is fairly uncomplicated, not particularly technical, and does not require the help of a professional. Our detailed manual (which you will receive once your order has been confirmed) and installation videos on our YouTube channel will guide you through easy, step-by-step assembly of your net.
We recommend having at least two people to set up your net and giving yourself a few hours (two to three hours on average) to finish set-up.
Tools for installing and attaching your net
LOFTNETS offers a range of fasteners based on your structure, as well as tension ropes.
Make sure you have the necessary tools for drilling holes in the frame structure and tightening fasteners before installing your net.
NB. The following tools are provided free with your net:
- Zip ties, which will help you position your net and keep it in place during lacing. This means you will need no special tools for installing the net itself.
- A drill bit if you chose our eye screws.
You might already have your own fasteners. These will still need to meet the same requirements and specifications as our fasteners. If you choose to use your own fasteners, you will need to let us know their length and diameter so we can include them in our calculations for your net’s plan.
A detailed installation manual for step-by-step guidance
After your order for a home net has been confirmed, you will receive by email the installation manual in PDF version to guide you through assembling and using your net.
The digital version of this file can be saved on your phone or tablet for use during installation.
This document looks at:
- Safety instructions and product warranties
- The frame and prerequisites for installation
- Installing and tensioning your home net
- Net maintenance and care
Images can often offer a clearer explanation than writing, which is why this manual includes several diagrams. You will also find several video tutorials on our YouTube channel designed to guide you through step-by-step installation of your net and in particular through lacing methods and knots.
Note that this installation manual is part of the entire home net system that has been approved by an independent certified inspection office, meaning it guarantees completely safe installation.
